Emeli Sandé 의 Read All About it을 듣는데 서지현 검사가 떠올랐다. 그의 용기에 경의를, 그의 외로움에 위로를 전하고픈 내 마음이 이 노래에 담겨 있었다.

같은 일을 겪고도 말하지 못했던 내가 떠오른다. 우리의 후배가, 우리의 딸들이 차별과 폭력에 희생될 거라고 했을 때, 왜 내 딸이 그런 희생자가 되겠느냐고 어이없어 했던 친구가 떠오른다. 여성이라 해서 모두 같은 고통을 겪고 같이 아파하지는 않는다. 성차별은 생물학적 성 차이와 같지 않으니. 교묘한 말로 서 검사를 모욕하는 선배 여감사 같은 이들이 어디 한둘이었던가. 하지만 여자의 적은 여자가 아니다. 적은 차별을 먹고 자라는 체제이며 그에 기생하는 모든 이들이며, 차별에 순응하는 나다. 참담함과 비겁과 부끄러움과 고마움과 희망을 모두 쓴다. 말하는 것, 허공에, 종이에, 닫힌 귀에, 침묵에,...말하는 것, 지치지 말고, 지치지 말고 말하는 것.
